Donations made to The Family Crisis Center of Johnson County assist in carrying out daily operations, or donors can request their donation be used for specific projects. All donations, no matter how small, can have the ability to help in BIG ways.
The generous contributions made by you and the rest of our supporters is what allows Family Crisis Center of Johnson County to continuously provide services to victims in need, assisting them on the journey from victimization to empowerment.
Ways To Donate
Kroger Card
The crisis center participates in the "Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Program." Kroger will donate a percentage of each purchase to the Family Crisis Center of Johnson County. All you have to do is request a barcode paper from the crisis center, use the code the next time you purchase items, and nothing else is required.
Court Ordered Payment
The Family Crisis Center of Johnson County accepts court-ordered payments in cash, check or credit card. A receipt with the donors name, case number, probation officer or judge, and amount will be issued upon receipt.
Every donor will receive a donation receipt which may be used for tax purposes. The Family Crisis Center of Johnson County takes donations Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The following items are needed at an on-going basis:
- Gently Used Clothing
- Cleaning Supplies
- Food
- Laundry Detergent
- Dryer Sheets
- Bleach
- Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)
- Cle-Tran Passes
- Feminine Products
- Baby Wipes
- Baby Diapers
- Hair Brushes
How Far Your Donation Will Go
Your $5 Donation Buys:
- Cle-Tran trip for a week for a woman to get to work
- Cleaning supplies for the shelter
- Toilet paper for the community bathroom at the shelter
$10 Donation Buys:
- Over the counter medicines for women and children
- After school snacks for one week
- Therapy supplies for the counselors
$25 Donation Buys:
- School supplies for a child for one year
- A hot meal for 10 people at the shelter
- A co-pay at the hospital for a woman's check-up after an assault
- Diapers for a baby for one week
$50 Donation Buys:
- Counseling for a victim
- Gas for the center van to transport children to and from school, daycare, medical, or dental appointments
- A complete apartment set-up for when the family moves to permanent housing. (kitchen supplies, towels, sheets, ect)
$100 Donation Buys:
- A portion of the center's monthly utility bills
- Summer crafts for all the children for one month
- Children's and adult support group material
$500 Donation Buys:
- Shelter for a battered woman and her children for one week
